// MANIFESTO
Technology should remove barriers.
Whether the challenge is understanding business data, automating repetitive work,
connecting fans with creators, or building digital platforms — the goal is always the same:
make complex processes simpler, more accessible and more efficient.
I believe the best systems are the ones people barely notice — because everything simply works.
L4cirya is the professional identity of a Data Analyst, Automation Developer and Digital Entrepreneur with experience across corporate technology, international e-commerce and community-driven digital services.
My journey with Japanese fan culture started around 2010 as a doujinshi collector. Back then, accessing independent Japanese publications, artbooks and fan-created works from outside Japan was often difficult, expensive and confusing.
As both a collector and technology enthusiast, I became interested in building solutions that could reduce those barriers. Since 2013, I have participated in projects focused on helping international fans access Japanese products, doujinshi, collectibles and creator content through more transparent, accessible and user-friendly services.
Alongside these community-focused projects, I developed a professional career in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting automation and digital transformation. Over the years I have collaborated with global consulting groups and multinational organizations across financial services, energy, and consumer sectors. Today I continue exploring the intersection between technology, automation, commerce and online communities.
Over a decade of projects supporting large organizations through data-driven decision making, reporting automation and analytics engineering — including work for a global IT consulting group serving multinational clients across financial services, energy and consumer industries.
More than a decade operating and improving international commerce platforms connecting buyers worldwide with Japanese stores, creators and suppliers. Includes early-generation proxy services when the market was still forming.
Designing, building and maintaining independent tools, platforms and automations — often born out of real operational necessity rather than portfolio exercises.
Collaboration with early pioneers of the international Japanese collectibles market, including direct work with the original founder of one of Japan's most recognized squishy brands — prior to its acquisition and international expansion.
This experience provided unique exposure to creator-driven commerce before the global collectibles market reached its current scale.
International proxy and commerce platform connecting customers worldwide with Japanese stores and independent creators since 2013. Full-stack: WooCommerce customization, marketplace integrations, order processing, shipping automation and customer support — all operated independently.
Participation in international Japanese collectible distribution projects, including direct collaboration with the original founder of one of Japan's most recognized squishy brands during the period before its acquisition and global expansion.
Analytics platform combining ML, LLMs and public data monitoring to identify signals that may indicate operational, financial or governance risks. Includes automated news ingestion, TF-IDF classification and AI summarization via local LLM.
Chrome extension for auto-capturing doujinshi viewer pages from Melonbooks and BookWalker. Features a persistent side panel, multi-region hash deduplication and a mutex-controlled async download queue.
Personal collection of tools and experiments: marketplace monitors, AI-assisted workflows, operational alerts, data collectors for niche Japanese sources and scraping pipelines.
Development of dashboards and monitoring systems for operational visibility and executive decision support across financial services, energy and consumer sectors — delivered through a global IT consulting group.
// THE LONG VERSION
Many people assume that long-running niche services eventually become highly profitable businesses. The reality is often quite different.
The Buy Doujinshi ecosystem has been operating since 2013, serving collectors, researchers, artists and fans interested in Japanese independent publications and niche products. The platform has successfully helped thousands of customers access items that would otherwise be difficult or impossible to obtain internationally.
However, its growth has always been constrained by the structural realities of operating a niche independent service in a specialized market.
Platform development, order processing, customer support, catalog maintenance and operational monitoring are handled independently on a daily basis. Despite more than a decade of continuous operation, the project remains a small independent service rather than a scaled commercial business — and that is an honest description of where it stands.
// WHY IT CONTINUES
"I genuinely believe independent creators, doujin culture and international fan communities deserve access to reliable services built by people who understand the community itself."
For me, this has never been only about business. It has always been about building and maintaining a bridge between creators and fans — since a time when Booth didn't exist, Pixiv was much smaller, and proxy shopping for doujinshi was extremely limited.
Open to conversations about data engineering, BI consulting, automation,
WordPress & WooCommerce development, or anything at the intersection
of technology and niche communities.
Also available for Japanese proxy and sourcing services — items from Japan
and from Brazil.
And yes, always happy to talk about doujinshi.
